Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, which Buboffee offers, grows under ideal climatic conditions in the tropical, humid climate on the volcanic southern slopes of Portland St. Andrews at an altitude of 1,400 to 1,800 metres in the "Blue Mountains", which are up to 2,300 metres high and stretch from the west to the east of the island. In Jamaica, the coffee beans are harvested from September to March. Each bean is checked for ripeness, harvested, washed, dried and sorted by hand.
Buboffee's Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee is sourced almost exclusively from small plantations in order to support the local community, such as the Jamaican Coffee Growers Association. Thanks to the small quantities that reach the market and its perfectly balanced flavour, it is one of the rarest and most expensive coffees in the world. But when you savour your first cup of this coffee, you will understand why it is considered the best coffee in the world. Our aim is to offer our customers the best quality in their cup of coffee and to support local farmers.
Of course, roasting is also an important process for the quality of the coffee beans that end up in your cup. That is why we have turned to experienced Swiss roasters, whose history dates back to 1903 and who are able to roast and profile the beans perfectly to delight even the most demanding customers.
